GUMASA RESORT
The province of Sarangani is not only famous because it is represented in congress by the world’s pound-for-pound boxer Manny Pacquiao; it is also fast becoming a popular vacation spot most especially the municipality of Glan. The white sand beaches of Glan are definitely world-class and also boast its rich marine life. There are around 2000 species of marine life such as mackerel, yellow fin tuna and shipjack just to name a few. It is best to visit the place during the cool months of November until January.
Glan is called as the Boracay of the South because the powdery white sand beaches are comparable to the ones seen in Boracay beaches. Visitors may also explore the caves and feel closer to nature with the wonderful view of clear waterfalls. There are also century old architectural sites to visit. There are simply a lot of things that visitors can do they explore the grandeur of Glan in Sarangani.
ISLA JARDIN
Isla Jardin del Mar is actually one of the newer resorts in the area as it opened its doors only this January.
Isla Jardin Del Mar which literally means “Island Garden of the Sea” in Spanish is managed by Charlemagne “Wanchin” Tan-Delfino. She gushes about how the provincial Governor Migs Dominguez and Glan Municipality Mayor Yoyong Yap were instrumental in the resort’s development with their provision for a road to be built from the highway to the beach.
Why that name? Because if viewed from the air, Isla Jardin del Mar looks like a “peninsula connected to a small island… with the cottages and a restaurant floating over two separate white sand bars.”, according to the Sarangani Provincial Office P.R. The P.R. continues: “The pinkish white shoreline stretches and curves 750 meters, which gives one an impression that the beachfront is part of a small island”.
There is a lagoon at the other side of the road and a fish pond is being readied for fishing hobbyists. Mountain trek activities have been arranged for would-be nature enthusiasts and the views from the hills which serve as boundaries for the property should delight everyone. Just at the other side of the road is a lagoon.
